Inspiration …

Since growing up as a kid, we've always had many people ask us “Who we want to be when we grow up?”, “Who is our idol?”, “Who is my Mentor?” . And I always struggled to answer those questions. The reason is because I never wanted to be like any ONE particular person. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not like I felt there was no one good enough to emulate.

But instead of one person to look up to, for me I get inspired and like many a quality from different individuals I come across in life.

Right from the unconditional and selfless love I've learnt from my Mother, or the independence and value for hard work and money my Father taught me, or Discipline and Respect for others from my Teachers at school. Whether it was basketball tricks from my neighbor, or Michael Jackson making me realize how we should care for the people who are not as fortunate as us, or the advice from my brother of being more realistic than optimistic. Close friends have taught me to how to open up and share the good times and the bad. My first boss showed me how to be passionate and love my work, whereas my Senior VP showed us how you can have a work life balance and still be an outstanding achiever. An ex-boyfriend teaching me how to love myself for what I am or that one guy in Business school telling me ‘Be confident’ just as I stepped into my Job interview….

So what I mean to say is- Take the lessons which work for you, that make you grow as a person. Don’t compare your life or your success to others. Compete with yourself. Learn new things every day. Unlearn the things which are not relevant anymore.  Don’t try to be like someone else, Be unique, yourself. Work every day towards being the best YOU possible. And keep getting inspired from people around you…..

Music or chocolate?!

If I had to chose between Music and Chocolate, which one ?! (This is just purely for discussion purpose,
God please don't let me ever have to chose)

For anyone who knows me well, you'll know how much I love my chocolate.

But this is a good discussion, cause I love my music too. I was a born into a music family. My dad used to
have a collection of 1000+ cassettes back in the days and my brother when he was in school used to save his pocket money every month and buy the latest released music cassette for his own small collection. He used to even record mixed compilation tapes for the neighbors and charge them Rs. 30 for each tape :)

So I've always had music daily in my lives. Every morning before Dad left for work and every evening once he was back from work. I always followed all the MTV and [V] music charts and even knew all the new songs before they were released locally through the Billboard Top 100 charts.

When I left home for hostel to pursue my graduation, I had my music system packed with me :) I remember being the first and only girl in the hostel to have a music system :) Listening to music has always been a hobby. During my studying days and even once I started to work. Keeps me company on my long drives to work and meetings.

Music is in blood...... cant stop myself from humming a tune now and then ...or even nodding my head to a famous tune in a bar...

I'm not saying I'll be happy to give up my chocolate, But my life would be depressing without any music.
So if i had to choose, I would have to chose music over chocolate. I think Music was always my first love
and first loves are never forgotten ;)

Imagine a life without a tune or any rhythm ..how boring ! no ! turn the music on !

We keep living…

Even if we sit around all day
Even if we work hard all day

Even if we rob each other
Even if we help each other

Even if we cheat one another
Even if we motivate one another

Even if we kill others
Even if we bring life to another

Even if we sleep
Even if we run

Even if we condemn
Even if we teach

Even if we fight
Even if we unite

Even if we complain
Even if we praise

We keep living…

What do we really want out of life?

Have you ever realized that in every 2 out of 3 conversations, we are whining or complaining about something on the other. Either it is about how we don’t want to attend class or about how we don’t have time to have fun or complaining about work or something or the other.

What are we really doing in life? Why are we so called “suffering” in life? Don’t we have a choice of what we can do in life? It’s OUR life after all…. We control it….. If we don’t like studying, attending classes, etc. , then why did we knowingly enrol in our MBA course. If we don’t get time to have fun, why don’t we make time to have fun? After all the 24 hours in a day belongs to me and no one else. So I should choose what to do every hour of my day.

Ok, fine I guess we are educating ourselves in order to get a good paying job. Why do we need a good job? It’s all for the money. Money for what? Happiness!!!!

I really don’t understand, so we land up suffering our entire life in order to be happy? Is our life that ironic? We all are just running a race and we don’t know where the race ends? We don’t really know what we want. So even once we accomplish our goals, we don’t know what to do next. All of us are blindly running where? And for what reason are we running?

Why can’t we just stop and enjoy the journey of life!!!!
